چکیده

We present the results of two ToO BeppoSAX observations of BLLac. During the first observation we detected both the synchrotron and the Compton components. Fast time variability was present, but only for the synchrotron component. During the second observation the spectrum was flatter and only the Compton component was present. Four different SED are presented and can be described by a blob moving along a jet and responsible for the SSC emission. The seed photons for the Compton scattering are the synchrotron photons themself plus possibly external photons coming from the broad line region.

Confirmation of non-thermal hard X–ray excess in the Coma cluster from two epoch observations

We report the hard X–ray spectrum of the Coma cluster obtained using the PDS data of two independent BeppoSAX observations performed with a time interval of about three years. In both the spectra a non thermal excess with respect to the thermal emission is present at a confidence level of ∼ 3.4σ. The combined spectrum obtained by adding up the two spectra allows a measurement of the excess at t...

Detection of Exceptional X - Ray Spectral Variability in the TeV BL Lac 1 ES 2344 + 514

We present the results of six BeppoSAX observations of 1ES 2344+514, five of which were taken within a week. 1ES 2344+514, one of the few known TeV BL Lac objects, was detected by the BeppoSAX Narrow Field Instruments between 0.1 to ≈ 50 keV. During the first five closely spaced observations 1ES 2344+514 showed large amplitude luminosity variability, associated with spectacular spectral changes...

New Extreme Synchrotron Bl Lac Objects

We report on the BeppoSAX observations of four “extreme” BL Lacs, selected to have high synchrotron peak frequencies. All have been detected also in the PDS band. For 1ES 0120+340, PKS 0548–322 and H 2356–309 the spectrum is well fitted by a convex broken powerlaw, thus locating the synchrotron peak around 1–4 keV. 1ES 1426+428 presents a flat energy spectral index (αx = 0.92) up to ∼100 keV, t...

SAX and multiwavelength observations of BL Lacertae in 2000

We present two BeppoSAX observations of BL Lac (2200+420) as part of a multiwavelength campaign performed in 2000. The source was in different states of activity: in June, the X–ray spectrum was faint and hard (α ∼ 0.8), with positive residuals towards low energies. In October we detected the highest [2–10] keV flux ever measured for the source. During this observation, the spectrum was soft (α...

The Bepposax View of Extreme Bl Lacs

We summarize the results of an observational program performed with the satellite BeppoSAX with the aim to find and study more extreme BL Lac objects. We discuss the SEDs of the observed objects and their impact on the " blazar sequence " scenario, and consider their relevance as possible TeV emitting sources.
